Terms of Use

Private Eye Parent (operated by Lean on Me Westchester Doula LLC)

Effective Date: November 2, 2026 Last Updated: November 2, 2026

1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Lean on Me Westchester Doula LLC, doing business as Private Eye Parent ("Private Eye Parent," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your access to and use of www.privateeyeparent.com and quiz.privateeyeparent.com and any related content, quizzes, downloads, emails, and free resources (collectively, the "Site").

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

If you purchase a paid course or product, such as the Trust But Verify™ course or the Childcare Interview Toolkit, that purchase is also governed by the applicable purchase agreement presented on that product's checkout page. If those purchase terms conflict with these Terms regarding your paid product, the purchase terms control for that product.

2. Who We Are

Private Eye Parent provides educational content and tools to help parents and caregivers make more informed decisions about childcare, including the Trust But Verify™ course, the Childcare Interview Toolkit, our childcare fit assessment, checklists, downloadable guides, and related resources. Private Eye Parent is a brand of Lean on Me Westchester Doula LLC, based in Westchester County, New York.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Site and to purchase any product. By using the Site, you represent that you meet this requirement. The Site is intended for users located in the United States.

4. Educational Purpose Only — No Professional Advice or Services

Please read this section carefully. It is important.

Private Eye Parent provides general educational information and self-guided tools. It does not provide, and nothing on the Site constitutes:

  • Legal advice or legal services;
  • Investigative, background-check, or private-investigator services performed on your behalf;
  • Medical, psychological, or clinical advice, including as it relates to doula or postpartum care; or
  • Professional consulting about any specific caregiver, candidate, or situation.

Our founder's background as a former investigator and postpartum doula informs the educational content but does not create a professional-client, investigator-client, legal, or medical relationship between you and Private Eye Parent.

You are solely responsible for your own decisions, including any decision to hire, retain, or dismiss a caregiver or childcare provider. We strongly encourage you to consult qualified professionals — such as licensed attorneys, accredited background-check providers, and other appropriate experts — and to comply with all applicable laws (including background-check, screening, fair-hiring, and privacy laws) before acting.

No safety guarantee. Our content is designed to help you feel more informed and confident, but no course, tool, or resource can guarantee the safety, honesty, fitness, or suitability of any caregiver, or any particular outcome. You assume full responsibility for how you use the information provided.

5. No Guarantee of Results

Any results, examples, or testimonials described on the Site are for illustration only and are not a promise or guarantee that you will achieve the same or similar results. Outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, including your own effort, judgment, and circumstances. Where a specific results disclaimer is presented (for example, on a checkout page), that disclaimer also applies.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, guides, checklists, quizzes, videos, graphics, logos, course and toolkit materials, and downloads — is owned by or licensed to Private Eye Parent and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site and any free resources for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, republish, sell, license, distribute, or share our content except as expressly permitted;
  • Create derivative works from our content;
  • Remove any copyright or proprietary notices; or
  • Use our content, name, or branding to imply endorsement or affiliation without our written permission.

Paid course and toolkit materials are subject to additional restrictions in the applicable purchase agreement.

7. Free Resources and Lead Magnets

When you download a free resource (such as a checklist or guide) or receive a quiz result, we grant you a license to use it for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not resell or redistribute free resources or present them as your own.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, other accounts, or our systems;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site or its security features;
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access or collect content without our permission;
  • Upload or transmit malicious code; or
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others, including in any community or group we host.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.

9. User Submissions and Testimonials

If you submit content to us — such as a testimonial, review, comment, or feedback — you grant Private Eye Parent a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display that content in our marketing and communications, unless you tell us otherwise in writing. You represent that your submission is truthful, is yours to share, and does not violate anyone's rights.

10. Affiliate Links and Third-Party Content

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and products, and may include affiliate links — including Amazon affiliate links — which means we may earn a commission if you make a purchase through them, at no additional cost to you. We are not responsible for third-party websites, products, or content, and a link does not imply our endorsement. Your dealings with third parties are solely between you and them.

If you participate in our affiliate/partner program, your participation is governed by our separate Affiliate Terms & Conditions.

11. Community Guidelines

If you join any community, group, or forum we host (including on third-party platforms such as Facebook), you agree to participate respectfully and to follow any posted community guidelines and the rules of that platform. We may remove content or members that violate those guidelines, at our discretion.

12. Disclaimers

The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that any information is complete or current.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Private Eye Parent, Lean on Me Westchester Doula LLC, and their owners, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site or its content, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Private Eye Parent, Lean on Me Westchester Doula LLC, and their owners, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Westchester County, New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

[Optional: insert arbitration and/or class-action-waiver clause here if your attorney recommends one.]

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

17. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any applicable purchase or affiliate agreement, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site.
